Accountability is important to us and it’s important to you. 46% of the people we spoke to chose this value as the most important quality in a States member.
Under our current system, there’s no way of judging a States member’s performance, or holding them to account for flip-flopping decisions. That’s just not good enough.
Local politics needs to be more professional and politicians should be held to account for their decisions.
We know change is hard. None of us wants to lose the unique way of life we all enjoy. That’s why progress can only be made with a deep respect for our heritage.
Without change, we will never be able to grasp the incredible opportunities in our future.
So, let’s do it. Let’s change Guernsey for the better. Together.
We all love this island and we want to see it prosper for our children and grandchildren. We’re tired of hearing negative narratives, but we also understand why people are becoming more and more demoralised with every passing year.
The fact is, fighting between ourselves isn’t going to help. The only way we will improve Guernsey is by working together.
